Every year, Body Essential chooses a local charity to assist during the holiday season. This year we have chosen Home Space. For your donation at our office, we will give you a $10.00 gift certificate good for that amount off any future full value service at our office, good through February 28, 2010. Below is a list of requests from a couple of the mothers and their children. In addition Gift Cards to Target, K-Mart and Applebees would be greatly appreciated. We are also accepting cash donations, with which we will gladly go shopping for items on the wish lists. We ask that your donation equal a minimum of $10.00.

Here is a bit about Homespace http://www.homespacecorp.com Homespace opened our Supervised Independent Living Program (SILP) in April 2008. Our SILP is a supervised, supportive apartment program for 18-21 year old youth in the foster care system who are pregnant and/or parenting. This program allows for youth to remain in the foster care system so that they can continue to pursue goals related to independent living while also getting the education and support to be positive, nurturing parents.

There are a total of twelve townhouses and each unit has 2-3 bedrooms (including one handicapped accessible unit), a living room, kitchen, dining area, and bathroom. Additionally, our residents share a secured courtyard, laundry facility, and a family visitation/recreation room.
